Natalja Nagovicina

Natalja Nagovicina is a 47-year-old Russian mountaineer known for her resilience in extreme situations. She gained attention in 2019 when she refused to leave her husband, who suffered a stroke at high altitude, insisting on staying by his side despite the dangers. Recently, she became the focus of a rescue operation after becoming stranded for ten days on Victory Peak in Kyrgyzstan at nearly 7000 meters, suffering from severe injuries in freezing conditions. Despite efforts from rescue teams, including an Italian climber who tragically lost his life in the attempt to reach her, the operation was ultimately called off due to worsening weather.
