Sergiy Tikhonovskiy
Sergiy Tikhonovskiy is a Belarusian blogger and activist known for his popular YouTube channel 'Strana dlya zhizni' (Country for Life). He was arrested in May 2020 while collecting signatures to run for president, which prevented him from officially entering the race. His wife, Svetlana Tikhonovskaya, subsequently became the opposition candidate and gained significant public support. Tikhonovskiy was sentenced to 19 years and 6 months in prison, where he remains incommunicado, and has become a symbol of the ongoing struggle for democracy in Belarus.
