Silvia Salis is an accomplished Italian athlete and politician, currently serving as the vice president of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI). Born in Genoa, she has represented Italy in hammer throw at the Olympics in Beijing 2008 and London 2012, winning ten national titles throughout her athletic career. In 2023, she was appointed as the 'Ambassador of Genoa in the World' by former mayor Marco Bucci. Salis has recently been selected as the candidate for the center-left coalition in the upcoming municipal elections in Genoa, supported by the Five Star Movement.
