Wei Deyou
Wei Deyou is an 85-year-old border guard who has dedicated more than six decades of his life to patrolling the China-Kazakhstan border in the remote Salburak Grassland of Xinjiang. Responding to a national call in 1964, he became a military settler and made a solemn promise to safeguard his country’s territory. Despite facing extreme weather conditions and numerous hardships, including encounters with wolves and harsh winters, Wei has remained resolute in his duty. His story embodies unwavering patriotism and commitment, making him a living symbol of loyalty to the nation.
