Wilhelm Gustloff
Wilhelm Gustloff was a Swiss Nazi political leader whose name was given to a luxury cruise liner that served as a symbol of the Nazi regime's 'Strength Through Joy' initiative. The ship, originally built for leisure, tragically became the site of the greatest maritime disaster in history when it sank in 1945 after being torpedoed during World War II, resulting in the deaths of over 9,000 people.
