Anna Krasteva
Anna Krasteva is a prominent professor at the New Bulgarian University and the founder of the Center for European Refugee, Migration, and Ethnic Studies (Cermes). Her research focuses on migration, far-right populism, post-democracy, and digital citizenship. An internationally recognized author of over 30 books and numerous scholarly articles, she argues that post-democratic leaders create crises rather than solve them. Krasteva recently spoke at the second annual conference of the SOS4Democracy project in Sarajevo, where she discussed the implications of post-democracy in relation to ongoing global crises, including those related to migration and the COVID-19 pandemic.
