
Gedhun Choekyi Nyima
Gedhun Choekyi Nyima is known as the 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet, recognized by the Dalai Lama in 1995 when he was just six years old. Shortly after his recognition, he and his family were taken into custody by the Chinese government and have not been seen in public since. His disappearance has become a symbol of the Chinese government's repression of Tibetan Buddhism and culture.
