John Dinkelman

John Dinkelman is a veteran diplomat and the head of the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA). After 37 years in the U.S. foreign service, he was laid off during a significant reduction of the state department's workforce, which included the termination of 246 foreign service officers and 1,107 civil service employees. Dinkelman has expressed concern that these cuts undermine the U.S.’s global leadership and diplomatic capabilities.
