Kászem Szolejmáni

Kászem Szolejmáni was a major general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran and the commander of its Quds Force, known for his significant role in Iran's military operations and influence across the Middle East. He was pivotal in shaping Iran's foreign policy and military strategy, particularly in relation to Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. Szolejmáni was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Baghdad in January 2020, an event that escalated tensions between the United States and Iran, and raised concerns about potential conflict in the region.
