Leonid Kravčuk

Leonid Kravčuk is a Ukrainian politician and the first President of Ukraine, serving from 1991 to 1994. He was a key figure in Ukraine's move towards independence following the collapse of the Soviet Union, and he was one of the signatories of the Belavezha Accords, which formally dissolved the USSR. Kravchuk's leadership during the tumultuous early years of Ukrainian independence was marked by efforts to establish a democratic state and navigate the challenges posed by both internal and external pressures.
