Samir Flores was a Mexican environmental activist known for his opposition to the Integral Morelos Project, a controversial energy initiative in Mexico. His activism was rooted in a deep commitment to protecting the land and rights of indigenous communities, and he became a prominent figure in the fight against environmental degradation in his region. Tragically, he was murdered in 2019, highlighting the dangers faced by environmental defenders in Mexico.
