Grigory Zinoviev was a significant figure in the Bolshevik Party and initially a close ally of Lenin. He led the Communist International and was a prominent Soviet politician during the early years of the Soviet state. However, he fell out of favor with Stalin, resulting in his execution during the Great Purge in 1936.
