Leon Trotsky
Leon Trotsky was a prominent Marxist revolutionary and theorist, key figure in the Russian Revolution of 1917, and the founder of the Red Army. He served as the People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs and later as the Commissar of War in the early Soviet government. Trotsky was a fierce critic of Joseph Stalin and advocated for permanent revolution, which put him at odds with the party leadership. Ultimately, he was exiled from the Soviet Union in 1929 and lived in various countries until he was assassinated in Mexico City in 1940 by a Stalinist agent.
