Lev Kamenev was a Bolshevik revolutionary and prominent Soviet politician who played a key role in the early years of the Soviet Union. He was an ally of Leon Trotsky and served in various government roles, including as the Chairman of the Moscow Soviet. Kamenev was eventually marginalized during Stalin's rise to power and was executed during the Great Purge in 1936.
