James Zadroga

James Zadroga was a New York City police officer who tragically became one of the first known casualties linked to the long-term health effects of the toxic exposure following the September 11 attacks. He died in 2006, and his case raised awareness about the health risks faced by first responders, ultimately contributing to the establishment of the World Trade Center Health Program, which provides medical care for those affected by the attacks.
