Muhammad Atef was a prominent member of al-Qaeda and a key figure in the planning of the September 11 attacks. He was known for his close association with Osama bin Laden and played a significant role in orchestrating terrorist operations. Atef was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Afghanistan in November 2001, shortly after the attacks, as part of the U.S. response to the 9/11 terror events.
