
Kiro Gligorov
Kiro Gligorov was the first President of the Republic of Macedonia, serving from 1991 to 1999. He was instrumental in guiding the country through its early years of independence following the breakup of Yugoslavia. Gligorov is remembered for his efforts to establish democratic institutions and promote stability in the region, as well as for securing international recognition of Macedonia as a sovereign state.
