Shi Yongxin
Shi Yongxin, born Liu Yingcheng on September 6, 1965, in Ying Shang, Anhui, is a prominent Chinese Buddhist monk and the current abbot of the Shaolin Temple. He is also the president of the Henan Buddhist Association and serves as the vice president of the Chinese Buddhist Association. Shi Yongxin is known for his efforts in modernizing the Shaolin Temple and promoting its cultural heritage, although he has faced controversies and criticisms regarding financial matters and the commercialization of Buddhism. Recently, he was in the news due to unverified reports suggesting that he was taken away for investigation, prompting reactions from fellow monks who stated they were awaiting official information.
