Fauja Singh
Fauja Singh was a remarkable Indian marathon runner known for his extraordinary achievements in long-distance running, particularly at an advanced age. Born on April 1, 1911, in India, he began running at the age of 89 after moving to London. Singh became famous as the world’s oldest marathon runner, completing the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in 2011 at the age of 100 in 8 hours and 11 minutes, and the London Marathon in 2012 at 101 years old in 7 hours and 49 minutes. He held multiple records in the 90+ age category and was an inspiration to many, showcasing the potential for endurance and athleticism regardless of age. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 114 due to a traffic accident near his village close to Jalandhar.
