Nirav Modi
Nirav Modi is an Indian businessman and jeweler, known for his luxury diamond jewelry brand. He gained international notoriety after being implicated in a massive fraud case involving the Punjab National Bank, where he allegedly defrauded the bank of over Rs 13,000 crore. Following the allegations, Modi fled India in early 2018 and sought asylum in the United Kingdom, where he has been involved in extradition proceedings. He is the nephew of another fugitive businessman, Mehul Choksi, and both have become symbols of high-profile financial crime in India.
