Samuel Doe
Samuel Doe was a Liberian military officer and politician who served as the President of Liberia from 1980 until his overthrow in 1990. He came to power through a violent coup that ousted the long-standing Americo-Liberian elite, and his regime was marked by human rights abuses, corruption, and civil unrest. Doe's rule ended during the First Liberian Civil War, leading to his capture and execution.
