Dimitri Tsafendas

Dimitri Tsafendas was a South African man known for assassinating Hendrik Verwoerd, the architect of apartheid, in 1966. Initially labeled as mentally ill, recent scholarship has reframed Tsafendas as a revolutionary figure whose actions were motivated by a desire to oppose the oppressive policies of apartheid rather than insanity.
