
Walter Mondale
Walter Mondale was an American politician and lawyer who served as the 42nd Vice President of the United States under President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981. A member of the Democratic Party, Mondale was known for his progressive policies and was the first presidential candidate to select a woman, Geraldine Ferraro, as his running mate in 1984. He ran unsuccessfully for the presidency in that year, losing to Ronald Reagan in a historic landslide.
