Lloyd Austin
Lloyd Austin is an American four-star general and the current Secretary of Defense, having taken office in January 2021. He is the first African American to hold this position. Austin has a distinguished military career, having served in various leadership roles, including as the commander of U.S. Central Command. He is recognized for his efforts in enhancing military readiness and addressing contemporary security challenges, particularly in relation to U.S. support for Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia.
