Enrico Fermi
Enrico Fermi was an Italian-American physicist known for his work in nuclear physics and quantum theory. He is best recognized for his creation of the first nuclear reactor, the Chicago Pile-1, and for his contributions to the development of quantum theory and statistical mechanics. Fermi was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1938 for his discovery of nuclear reactions produced by slow neutrons.
