Luis Inácio Lula da Silva
Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, commonly known as Lula, is a Brazilian politician and former union leader who served as the 35th President of Brazil from 2003 to 2010. He is a founding member of the Workers' Party and is known for his social programs that helped reduce poverty in Brazil. After his presidency, Lula faced legal challenges and was imprisoned on corruption charges, although his convictions were later annulled. He returned to politics and won the 2022 presidential election, defeating the incumbent Jair Bolsonaro, which has positioned him at the center of Brazil's current political landscape.
